Italy's Lost Caravaggio - Mafia Masterpiece?

PALERMO, SICILY - October 19, 1969 the Oratorio de San Lorenzo was robbed.  Thus began the hunt for one of the world's most sought after paintings, Caravaggio's, "Nativity with St. Francis & St. Lawrence".

The lost work has a value in the tens of millions of dollars.  There has been much speculation as to the fate of the painting.  In an Italian Mafia trial there was even  a report of it's destruction.

Although statutes for criminal prosecution may have lapsed, this painting is still considered to be stolen property.  If you have any information about this case please contact the appropriate officials.
