July 16, 1999 Paris, France Dufy Theft July 13, 1999 Draguignan, France: Rembrandt Theft June 20, 1999 France: Dufy, Manet, Utrillo Stolen June 8, 1999 RECOVERED 7/10/99 France, Nice: Matisse May 14, 1999  Den Bosch, Netherlands: RECOVERED 3/16/06 Van Gogh Theft April 6, 1999  RECOVERED 1/16/00 St Petersburg, Russia: Perov  March 11, 1999  Antibes, France: Picasso Theft January 29, 1999  RECOVERED 8/23/99 Denmark: Belini & Rembrandt January 22, 1999 RECOVERED  5/17/99 United Kingdom, gunmen stole 20 paintings from the York City Art Gallery.  The haul included works by Turner,  Stickert, Bartolommeo and others.  Other 20th century art thefts (listings in French) see link For more information see our Stolen Art Directory.
